Once a man under pressure, Pellagrini has city unbeaten on top of the table after 4 weeks.

More giant killing efforts from some of the leagues most exciting players again this week. The most exciting this or us is, there is no Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal or Liverpool players in this week’s team. #newblood

(Week 4)

Krul

Ward    Reid    Williams    Amavi

B. Sako    Ayew    Lanzini    Tadic

Gomis (c)    Sinclair

Bench: Howard Dann Sagna Stirling Cresswell Pelle                      Manager: Slavan Bilic

Those who didn’t cut the mustard:

Dejan Lovren.…. Or David Luis as we have started calling him. Lovren was utter shite this week. After a bright start to the year Lovren put in a rubbish shift against the Hammers. They prayed on him like an American at an all you can eat buffet. Spare a thought for Lovren though, he took so much abuse after the game he had to close all of his social media account. Not quite the YNWA mantra there hey?

Charlie Adam and Ibrahim Afellay: After 25 and 30 mins respectively these 2 had already been given early showers. The last thing you want is 2 of your 4 starting midfielders sent off at all, let alone before halftime. Poor discipline from 2 experienced players in what was ultimately a very important match for the Potters. Work of the wise Ibrahim, if you’re going to get a red card, don’t make it for a pussy slap to the cheek. Break his leg or something jeepers!!! Really a slap? Tisk tisk Ibby.

As there is an International break this week stay tuned to The Back of the Net for an in depth look at a few topics dominating the headlines in England, and also a check in to what’s happening in other leagues around the world.
